We are in the process, ladies and gentlemen, of moving back into our newly expanded house and dear friend, Gus. It is something for which we’ve been waiting 10 months — on hold… life paused… until we could resume our regular daily groove. And although we have been filling that “pause” time with all manner of wonderful moments spent with close friends and/or involved with some activity we find worthwhile, we have longed to return to our “norm”.
Of course, that old normal no longer exists — we had it ripped out, deepened by several feet, and built up. We had it made into the normal of our dreams. And although we feel homey, and in some of the most ideal ways, it’s also proving just as interesting to acculturate as being exiled from our home in the first place. We’ve come back to Gus, but Gus has doubled in size and become — well, sophisticated… So we are getting used to getting back to normal, as we unpack and reestablish our routines.
As you can imagine, we are ridiculously busy at present, so if I miss a regularly scheduled post or two in the next week, you’ll have to pardon me. I am filling every moment from waking to sleeping again with life-in-addition-to-(and-as-well-as-)moving.
I hope you are having a stellar new year thus far. I wonder what new norms you all are (re?)establishing…
PS Just as a matter of perspective, this is how Xi and Echo move!
