Hello world!

Greetings and Salutations!

This is a brand new blog.  And here you are on the ground floor of this loving work in progress! As I’ve already mentioned in the side bar over there —–> this blog will primarily be about parenting, and child development. But there will be lot’s about just living with kids, and growing as a person because of being a parent. There will be suggestions,”radical” ideas, uncommon sense, general information, and links to even more information about how we can all help our children grow up as healthy and happy and successful as they are cable of being.

Welcome to this place.

Oh and by the way, the name for this blog comes from the youngest of our three daughters, Echo, who was on a walk with her mom (Natalie) one day, as she often is, and though Natalie was pretty ready to get home, Echo was moving fairly slowly, and wanted to pause and get a closer look at a particular spot. Echo asked Natalie to come and join her, as Natalie relates:

[Echo] said “Mom. You gotta check this out. You gotta look at this.”

Hoping to check it out from where I stood so as not to lose the twenty feet of ground I had gained in my creeping, I craned my head. She stood in the middle of the alley, in between a laundromat and a tattoo parlor. There was a chain link fence, a patch of mud, some scraggly bushes, and a couple of dandelions. “Check what out? What do you see?”

But she said “No you gotta come closer!”

I reluctantly agreed and when I got to her, to my shame she said:

“Isn’t it beautiful? What a beautiful place of the world. The green bushes and this greyish cement…”     (get the full story here!)

That’s what this blog is about. Check back if you like and see how it grows. Until then, here’s hoping you find beautiful places of the world where you live, too.

Be well.
